TRADERS TAKING OVER OUR ROADS
Please hide my identity.
I am surprised how Ghana has become a lawless country where everyone is at liberty to do whatever they want. My daily rant is about how traders have taken over our roads meant for vehicles. Places like Ashaiman, Tema and the Nation’s capital Accra are some of the common places where traders have taken to the roads to sell their commodities.
In Ashaiman especially and it’s environs, there is always a heavy traffic on the road between the Traffic light and Newtown Junction because vehicle owners find it difficult to move swiftly on the road due to the activities of the traders. They have occupied half of the road and insult you when you ask them to give way. They litter the road with rubbish and pour dirty water on it.
This has forced Pedestrians and vehicles to use the same road since the pavements are occupied too. It is quite dangerous for pedestrians, vehicle owners and even the traders themselves. On days when these big trucks come to offload goods for the market women, they also pack on this same road therefore making movement difficult. They make the roads filthy by dumping refuse and throwing dirty water on it as well.
Esi, Please I want to use your medium to communicate my daily rant to the task force, road safety and all institutions in charge to evacuate these traders and make them go into the market to sell.Ghana is for all of us and as citizens we need to help the government by being law abiding in order to make our country great again. We keep complaining of how the government fails us forgetting that we fail ourselves and this country in so many ways. If we want Ghana to work again we need to do things right.I understand they have mouths to feed and therefore need to work but the right thing must also be done. This is my daily rant dear.
